As expected, this hikes parking lot was very full. About a miles length out from the park is cars lining both sides. Luckily, we ended up getting there when the first wave of hikers were leaving and find an easy parking spot.
The entrance from the parking lot is a flat path that leads to Rattlesnake lake. Once you reach the lake there are multiple portable bathrooms and two structured ones. The trailhead also is here.
Unfortunately, we went during the heat advisory, making this a warm hike. The start of this hike has a decent incline grade. It’s not too steep to start with, which is nice to warm up on.
This keeps going for much of the hike, with some steep spots. The trail paving itself is consistent and flat. There aren’t many roots or rocky terrain that can be tricky to navigate.
Near the end of the escalation, there are a series of switchbacks that make up the bulk of the climb, making this the most difficult part of the climb.
The ledge itself was as beautiful as always and when I get access to the photo’s, I’ll probably place one here.
