I recently bought a fire pit. A small one for camping because of the increasing frequency (and how early!) fire bans start. One problem I ran into is calculating how long the thing will run before I run out of gas. As the only usage of propane will be the fire pit, I didn’t want to lug around a 25 gallon tank of propane. That would be way too much.
So, I wrote this small calculator to determine how long a given tank size will last when using a device. These devices should say their BTU amount, and you can use that to predict the usage. I also put in an efficiency part. So 95 will equal 95% efficency.
